This video has been making the rounds the last couple of days, but it's definitely worth sharing. It features National Geographic photographer Paul Nicklen telling about an amazing experience he had while taking shots in Antarctica. Paul was actually in the water, getting shots of penguins and seals, when one of the lion seals, a 12-foot long predator, seemingly mistook him as one of its own kind, and proceeded to attempt teach him how to hunt, and even showing him how to feed. The seal was so persistent, that it attempted these things for several days, and Paul managed to get some amazing photos of the event. Really interesting stuff. Check it out.

This is so cool. I would chill out on the "predator" comments. Once people get over the fear and have a healthy respect for marine life they no longer become predators but amazing marine sea creatures full of mystery but wild all the same.

I agree, it is very cool and really interesting. Makes you wonder why the seal was doing that and what it was thinking.
As for it being a predator, true, they are intriguing creatures and very intelligent, but a predator none the less. They can be quite dangerous, but charming too. :)

I'm jealous too! I'd love a job with Nat Geo in just about any capacity. A photographer like this one would be an amazing job!
Cool! I think seals are very smart. My brief experiences with them have been pretty cool. You can almost see it in their eyes that they have a higher intelligence.
